Our restaurant with typical cuisine is located on the slope of a grassy hill, surrounded by centuries-old oaks and accompanied by the scent of broom and birds singing. In this bucolic setting, it is easy to spot this former hunting lodge, now restored without losing its original stone structure with exposed chestnut wood beams.

In addition to hosting banquets and weddings, our restaurant with typical Umbrian cuisine offers a relaxing and peaceful setting for guests who want to experience nature's vigour and joie de vivre, making it the ideal spot for pleasant walks and a rest stop for local explorers.

From the restaurant, you can reach Mount Fionchi along a mule track and enjoy a breathtaking view. The area is also surrounded by splendid medieval villages, perfectly preserved and enriched by towers, churches and 16th-century frescoes.

This traditional cuisine, which has been skilfully revamped, led the restaurant to receive the Gambero Rosso's Tre Gamberi award in the 2017 Guida Ristoranti d’Italia, the highest prize for simple and authentic cuisine, made up of great local trattorias and traditional recipes.

Our Restaurant's Garden

Ristorante Il Capanno has its own vegetable garden, which allows it to offer typical and locally-sourced Umbrian cuisine, perfectly in line with the restaurant's philosophy. Discover homemade salami, pigeons from selected farms, meat from trusted butchers, cheese from Fattoria Calcabrina, local game, and home-grown vegetables.
As a result, our restaurant's simple and tasty cuisine is rooted in the local area and includes: artichokes with ricotta cheese, fettuccine with a white pigeon ragout, liver, gramigna pasta and savoury ravioli with a white chicken cacciatore ragout, roast pigeon, baked lamb chops with herbs, tasty vegetables, and much more. We also offer celiac-friendly versions, with a large section dedicated to white truffles.
